The iconic Zathura robot was a real, functional suit built by Stan Winston Studio (the legendary creature shop behind Jurassic Park and Terminator ). Performed by visual effects artist John Alexander, the lumbering metal giant interacted directly with the child actors, creating genuine terror and authentic performances.
