After the turn of the millennium, a monumental project was undertaken to preserve Mayabazar for future generations. In late November 2007, the Hyderabad-based company Goldstone Technologies acquired the world negative rights to a package of 14 Telugu films, which included Mayabazar , with the goal of digitally restoring and colorizing them. The restoration team did not just guess the colours. They conducted extensive historical research into the textiles, jewellery, and architectural designs of the era. Surviving costumes worn by the cast, including legendary actors N.T. Rama Rao (NTR), Savitri, and S.V.
