The film's plot is lean and claustrophobic, focusing almost entirely on two characters. After five years of separation, Chris Terry (Jacob Tierney) travels to Montreal to visit his younger sister, Noelle (Emily Hampshire). Both have troubled pasts. Chris is a recovering alcoholic and a bisexual ex-drug addict. Noelle is a heroin-addicted prostitute, who has just been released from jail and is desperate for her next fix. Their reunion is not a warm, familial embrace. Instead of a typical welcome, Noelle propositions her own brother, asking him to join her and her client for a paid threesome.
