The .rar archive is often password-protected. To get the password, the user is directed to a website to complete surveys, download mobile apps, or sign up for premium subscription services. The scammer earns an affiliate commission for every completion, while the user receives a useless or broken password.
If you manage to extract the file, you'll find an executable program (.exe) that looks convincing.
