When you first plug in the unit, the display flashes "888" as it runs a self-diagnostic parameter check. It then performs a "Soft Start" sequence: the lights flicker on first, followed 30 seconds later by the compressor, and finally the evaporator fan. It displays "USE" , signaling it’s ready for business.
