Outline and History

Good statistical understanding can be easy to learn and should be accessible to everyone. It is invaluable for informed decision making across disciplines and education levels. The software development has been led by Africa talent and is intended for a broad-multilingual audience.

R-Instat provides a front-end to R, designed to broaden the users of the software, particularly in Africa. "R is an open-source programming language and software environment for statistical computing and graphics that is supported by the R Foundation for Statistical Computing. The R language is widely used among statisticians and data miners for developing statistical software and data analysis." autodata 3.46

R’s reputation has grown incredibly in recent years. General information about R is here and it’s early history is given here. The original Instat was an easy-to-use statistics package, produced at the University of Reading, UK. It was designed to support good statistical practice and included a special menu for the analysis of historical climatic data. The ideas behind Instat have motivated the structure of the R-Instat menus and dialogues, though no line of the original code remains. One of Autodata’s primary value propositions is the

One of Autodata’s primary value propositions is the time it saves in the workshop. At a typical labour rate of $120 per hour, eliminating just one unnecessary hour of research per day translates to roughly $2,400 per month in lost productivity for a single technician. For a two‑bay operation, the savings multiply quickly.

As an offline software, Autodata 3.46 was likely designed to run on Windows operating systems, including Windows XP, Windows 7, Windows 8, and Windows 10. The software memory size is relatively modest, with the Windows version occupying approximately 2.4 GB and a Virtual Machine version taking up about 5.5 GB. It likely supported English and possibly other languages, with its data coverage spanning 2011–2014 in its last updates.

Note for Windows 10 and 11 Users: Since version 3.46 was developed prior to recent Windows updates, running the application on modern systems often requires setting the executable file to and enabling Windows 7 Compatibility Mode in the file properties. Why Workshops Still Use Version 3.46

// Act var result = uut.Add(a, b);

Guided fault-finding charts linking specific symptoms to probable component failures. Key Benefits for Workshops

The software is designed to streamline workshop operations by providing OEM-licensed technical data. Its interface typically includes several key modules: Technical Specifications:
