The series opens in Spain, introducing us to a young girl, Go An-na (played by Yoona), running barefoot through the streets of Madrid. She is terrified, escaping from a cloistered life of forced captivity. Simultaneously, we meet Kim Je-ha (played by Ji Chang-wook), a former mercenary soldier living off the grid, visibly traumatized by his past wartime experiences.
