Grants total remote autonomy. It eliminates the need for physical proximity to the machine during a crash, firmware failure, or fresh operating system installation. What Features Does the License Key Unlock?
While the base iRMC offers basic management, its most powerful remote management capabilities—essential for modern, lights-out data center operations—are locked behind a paid license key. Activating a license enables functions that allow you to manage a server as if you were physically present, regardless of your location. The primary features unlocked by the license key are:
This raw data is encrypted using the AES-128 algorithm. The encryption key is derived from a static, hardcoded HMAC-SHA1 hash stored within the iRMC's firmware. The resulting encrypted binary data is then encoded using and formatted with hyphens every four characters to produce the final license key string.
Useful for troubleshooting boot-up errors.
The iRMC serves as the Baseboard Management Controller (BMC) for Fujitsu PRIMERGY servers. It allows administrators to monitor hardware sensors (fans, temperatures), control power states, and access the server via a web interface, even if the operating system is unresponsive or the server is powered off.
