Using his DEA agent brother-in-law (Dean Norris) as an unwitting guide, Walt infiltrates a drug bust and identifies a former student, Jesse Pinkman (Aaron Paul), as a local meth distributor. Walt blackmails Jesse into a partnership: Walt provides the "cook" (his chemistry expertise), and Jesse handles the distribution.
