Released on , Kung Pow: Enter the Fist is an experimental parody of 1970s Hong Kong action cinema. Director Steve Oedekerk purchased the rights to a 1976 martial arts film titled Tiger & Crane Fists (also known as Savage Killers ).

Oedekerk took the 1976 Hong Kong action film Tiger and Crane Fist (also known as Savage Killers ), removed the original lead actor, and digitally inserted himself into the footage. He also redubbed every character himself, except for one female lead.

A completely CGI scene where The Chosen One battles a martial-arts-trained cow using Matrix-style choreography.
